Peningkatan Literasi Akademik Mahasiswa UIN Jurai Siwo Lampung melalui Pelatihan Penulisan Karya Ilmiah

Abstract

This community service program addressed three problems: first, students’ low awareness and knowledge of the importance of scientific writing; second, the lack of human resources capable of conducting such training; and third, the limited financial capacity to organize training at the level of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Department. The program aimed to improve the scientific writing skills of PAI students at UIN Jurai Siwo Lampung and to produce draft research proposals or articles as outputs. It employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach to provide and improve students’ understanding of how to write scientific papers so that they would be able to write them properly. Within the PAR framework, the service team and the Student Association of the PAI Study Program (HMPS) collaborated across several stages of the program. The results showed that PAI students at UIN Jurai Siwo Lampung improved their understanding and gained experience in developing scientific papers, from determining a title, writing the background, formulating research questions, and reviewing theories to designing research methods and drafting and evaluating research proposals. The students also produced draft proposals or articles as outputs of the training.
