1. Objective
This policy aims to detect and prevent plagiarism in all manuscripts submitted to SWADAYA: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat.
2. Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the act of copying or reusing text, ideas, data, or images from other sources without proper attribution. This includes but is not limited to:
- Using someone else's words or ideas without acknowledgment.
- Presenting someone else's work as one's own.
- Plagiarizing data or research findings without permission.
3. Scope of the Policy
This policy applies to all submitted manuscripts, including research articles, community service reports, literature reviews, and other scholarly publications.
4. Screening Process
- Detection Software: All manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or Grammarly.
- Screening Stages: Screening is conducted after manuscript submission and before the editorial review process.
5. Plagiarism Tolerance
The acceptable similarity index is below 20%. Manuscripts with a similarity index above this threshold will be further reviewed to ensure originality.
6. Consequences of Violations
- Rejection of Manuscripts: Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism will be rejected outright.
- Future Submission Ban: Authors found in violation may be prohibited from submitting future works for a certain period.
- Further Actions: The journal reserves the right to inform the authors' affiliated institutions about the violations detected.
7. Procedures for Handling Plagiarism Cases
If plagiarism is detected, the following process will be undertaken:
- Investigation: The editorial team will conduct an investigation to determine the extent of the violation.
- Communication: Authors will be notified of the findings and may be asked to provide clarification or revisions if necessary.
