This community service program aimed to enhance the capacity of livestock farmers through training and mentoring on corn pulp silage fermentation as an alternative feed technology to improve feed availability and livestock productivity in Sambangrejo Village, Lamongan Regency. A participatory community empowerment approach was employed involving 20 livestock farmers. The program consisted of needs assessment, training sessions, hands-on demonstrations, and mentoring activities. Data were collected through observations, interviews, participant evaluations, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive methods.
The program improved farmers’ knowledge and practical skills in producing fermented feed from locally available corn pulp. Participants successfully adopted the fermentation technique and utilized agricultural by-products more efficiently. The intervention increased fermented feed production by approximately 25–50% and improved feed reserves for livestock management. Positive participant responses indicate that the technology is feasible, affordable, and relevant to local farming conditions. The integration of training and mentoring effectively supported technology adoption and strengthened farmers’ capacity for sustainable livestock development.
