Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

General Instructions

Manuscripts to be sent for publication in JECS: Journal of Early Childhood Studies must be based on the results of current research, both quantitative and qualitative approaches, involving children from early school level to university students as research subjects. both in formal, informal and non-formal education channels. Manuscripts can be written in Indonesian or English. Authors are advised to maintain accuracy, including for example the use of proofreading services. The body of the manuscript can be written in English or Indonesian, but the title, abstract and keywords are written in both languages, especially for Indonesian authors. The language and style used in the body of the manuscript should be considered as one aspect of the manuscript evaluation. Authors are strongly advised to check the manuscript carefully and send the manuscript to a reliable language editor before manuscript submission. Second, authors have a responsibility to avoid plagiarism at all costs. The editors of JECS: Journal of Early Childhood Studies examine text similarity using computer software (e.g. Turnitin), with a tolerance of no more than 25%. Generally, an article consists of 5,000 to 8,000 words, including title, abstract, tables, and references. Articles are typed in Microsoft Word with 1.5 line spacing, Book Antiqua font type, font size 11, in one column in .doc, .docx, or .rtf format (not in pdf format). Page numbers are not required. The body of the article consists of four main parts; namely: introduction, methods, findings and discussion, and conclusions. Length weighting for each section: introduction (20%), method (10%), findings and discussion (60%), and conclusion (10%). The reference list is also an important part of the article. It is recommended to only include internationally accessible, reliable and reputable references.
